Central to Christianity is the paradoxical claim that, not only does God love us, but also, as the first letter of John proclaims: God is Love. Explore the various passages in the Old and New Testaments that spell out what that could mean. We will examine how the books within the Old Testament and New Testament agree with each other, and how they highlight different understandings of God’s love and God as love. Seminar taught by St. Gregory's Hall scholar-in-residence and DePaul University prof. Scott Moringiello. $80 suggested donation.
